When installed underneath your gas or electric water heater base, this 2.5 inch deep drain pan will contain any minor discharge or dripping and thereby protect your floor from staining, bulging and swelling. And when something severe happens, (and they do!), like a major water leak or tank rupture, the drain pan will effectively collect the flow of water and drain It through the integrated drain pipe. The water heater pan has been proven to prevent the floods, mold growth, drywall and subfloor damage.
